Navigating Tariffs Together

An Update on Our Launch Plans

Dear supporters,

We know you’ve already seen plenty of updates and headlines about the tariffs, but we want to make sure you’re in the loop on how we’re moving forward with the launch of our first three games: Stack5, MRBLS, and CUNO (formerly Orbis). As a company, transparency is important to us, and we want you to know exactly what to expect as we navigate these changes together.

First and foremost, we want to reassure you that we are not raising prices on any of our games and we don’t have plans to do so in the future. We've selected a manufacturer that shares our commitment to quality and is helping us navigate the rapidly shifting trade economy. Our goal remains the same: to bring you the kind of high-quality games that define what Smidgen is all about.

The only thing that may shift is our launch timeline. After talking with our manufacturer and exploring all our options internally, we’ve narrowed it down to two paths forward:

One is to wait a few months to see how the tariff situation unfolds; whether they’re adjusted or lifted. The other option is to move ahead with our original plan of pushing through and shipping around July. For that to work, we’ll need enough pre-orders to help offset the added costs caused by the current tariff structure. If you haven’t done so already, you can pre-order Stack5, MRBLS, and CUNO (formerly Orbis) through our store. Things may continue to evolve, but we promise to keep you informed every step of the way.

We understand that many of you are navigating financial uncertainty, just as many of our fellow colleagues in the board game industry are. Despite the challenges posed by new tariffs, we remain committed to doing everything we can to support you, our community, and to get our games into your hands as soon as possible.

Every day we are hearing about another beloved boardgame company that announces they are shutting down. All we ask is that you continue to support your favorite publishers, retailers, and creators however you can. Whether it’s word of mouth, picking up a new game, grabbing some merch, or simply stopping by your local game store, every bit helps. Your support means the world to us, and we’re incredibly grateful to have you with us on this journey.

With gratitude,

Smidgen Games
